How To Check Which Web Pages Are Indexed By Search Engines

How can you find out if your Web site is listed in the search engines? And if your site is listed, how can you find out which Web pages of your site are listed?We've assembled a list with step-by-step instructions for each search engine. Just replace "your-domain.com" with the domain name of your Web site.For best results, omit the "http://www." part, for example if your Web site is "http://www.Axandra.com", then use only "Axandra.com".

AltaVista

Go to " http://www.AltaVista.com/ ".
Enter "host:your-domain.com" and click the Find button.

AllTheWeb

Go to " http://www.AllTheWeb.com/ ".
Enter "url.host:your-domain.com" and click the Search button.

AOL Search

Go to " http://search.aol.com/ ".
Enter "site:your-domain.com inurl:your-domain.com" and click the Search button.

Dmoz / Open Directory

Go to " http://www.dmoz.org/ ".
Enter just "your-domain.com" and click the Search button.

Google

Go to " http://www.Google.com/ ".
Enter "site:your-domain.com inurl:your-domain.com" and click the Search button.

HotBot

Go to " http://hotbot.lycos.com/ ".
Enter "domain:your-domain.com" and click the Search button.

LookSmart

Go to http://listings.looksmart.com/help/faq.jhtml#sblb3j to get a detailed explanation how you can find your Web site on LookSmart and its partners.

Lycos

Go to " http://www.Lycos.com/ ".
Enter "url.all:your-domain.com" and click the Go button.

MSN Search

Go to " http://search.msn.com/advanced.asp ".
Enter your domain name (without the "http://www." part) in the search box and enter it again in the "Domain:" box. Then click the Search button.

Yahoo

Go to " http://search.yahoo.com/search/options ".
Enter your domain name in the "include all of y ur words" box, select the "Yahoo! Directory listings" option and click the Search button.
